Harare – The Southern Daily’s chief correspondent Mlondolozi Ndlovu was last night attacked by a dozen armed thugs who physically assaulted him with clenched fists, booted feed, sticks, stones and some unidentified objects.
Ndlovu was in the company of Tajamuka Student Leader, Makomborero Haruzivishe in Harare. The Tajamuka leader escaped with a fractured hand, while our correspondent suffered minor injuries.
The thugs also forcibly took our correspondents cellular telephone device.
The duo managed to slip through the arms of the attackers and fled for their lives.

Our entire editorial team strongly condemns such an attack, whatever the motive, and we encourage our government to respect the role played by journalists in a democratic society, and to afford us the protection we need.
