There is an outbreak at Girls High School. More than 10 boarding school students from Beit dormitory and many more from the other dormitory were collected last night suffering from stomach aches and vomiting.
I also collected my daughter and many more were still awaiting parents notification. Those manning the hostels say this started on or just before lunch when the first pupils fell ill.
What is disgusting is that the school has boarding but does not have safe drinking water, they actually discourage drinking their borehole water.
Even the boiled water they bring in the dining room is not recommended by the school to drink preferring to ask parents to buy water for the children.
Of concern is last year the school spent $69 844 on pavements with a further budgeted $100 000 for this year and $135 826 for maintenance and repairs without sorting out basics like water provision.
They spent $73 839 on staff Travel and subsistence and yet about 12 girls share a bathroom. Boarding students have their meal around and only have the nest at 1pm when they are allowed back to the dorms.
