Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries leader, Walter Magaya has hit the headlines once again with an audio clip in which he allegedly tries to manipulate evidence going viral on social media platforms.
In the audio recording which has been played once in court, a man believed to be Magaya instructs a witness to change his statement and incriminate one of the co-accused.
In the audio, which was allegedly recorded without Magaya’s knowledge, a voice is heard instructing the man on the other end of the phone to withdraw his statement and say he bought the vehicle for US$80 000.
The witness is also told to say he witnessed Upenyu Mashangwa getting US$36 000 from Admire Mango, a senior PHD overseer after being called by one Amai Musa.
The man believed to be Magaya can be heard trying to convince a woman that he has protected the accused.
The defence lawyers, Tafadzwa Hungwe and Dumisani Mtombeni confirmed that the audio clip is genuine and part of it was played in court.
Mtombeni said he has four more audio clips to produce in court.
Voice experts are yet to determine whether the voice actually belongs to Magaya.
Mashangwa and three others will be back in court on Monday facing charges of fraud.
They will appear before magistrate Noel Mupeiwa.
