Reports say Warriors coach, Callisto Pasuwa has quit the national team over ZIFA’s failure to honour its promise to pay him his dues which date back to September last year.
The development deals another major blow to the Warriors’ preparations for the CHAN second leg qualifier against Comoros, after reports that no tangible information is available on the travel arrangements ahead of the match on Saturday.
Pasuwa’s Manager, Gibson Mahachi told the ZBC News that the ex-Dynamos coach is fed up, adding that ZIFA had promised to pay him his dues by 30 June but nothing has happened two days after the deadline.
ZIFA CEO, Jonathan Mashingaidze refused to shed light on the matter, saying he is yet to establish facts.
The under fire ZIFA has failed the nation on several occasions and had to rely on well-wishers such as PHD founder Walter Magaya, to raise money for players’ allowances before the AFCON qualifier against Malawi and a CHAN first leg qualifier against Comoros last month.
The team travelled to Malawi by road and Pasuwa was pictured boarding the Munorarama bus with a checkered blanket, which football fans have since nicknamed a ‘Pasuwa.’
