India Threatened Zimbabwe: Pakistan Claims

LAHORE: Pakistan’s Home Minister, Colonel (R) Shuja Khanzada Tuesday revealed that officials of the Zimbabwe cricket team were threatened by India’s intelligence agency RAW in Dubai.

This was just before the tournament against Pakistan was supposed to start. Zimbabwe toured Pakistan on May 19 for three ODIs and two T20s.

Khanzada claimed that officials including the team manager were told by RAW that if the Zimbabwe team travelled to Pakistan for the cricket series, they would face dire consequences that can be compared to atrocities of IS in Syria.

The home minister went on to say that RAW as well as other external agencies were involved in several acts of terrorism.

He added that the excellent police security performance during the Pakistan-Zimbabwe series improved the country’s image.
