Two people died while 23 others were seriously injured when a commuter omnibus they were travelling on rammed into a stationary haulage truck along Bulawayo road Thursday morning.
The two who died are members of the Johane Masowe Wechishanu from Bulawayo who were going to a church gathering.
According to eye witnesses, the stationary haulage truck did not have a stop sign.
They said the driver of the commuter omnibus might have fallen asleep.
Police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba confirmed the accident and called on commute omnibus drivers to be careful on the roads and not to overload as the omnibus was overloaded.
The injured were taken to Parirenyatwa hospital.
