Sungura Musician, Daiton Somanje dies

Veteran Sungura musician, Daiton Somanje, who co-founded Pengaudzoke with his young brother, Josphat has died.

The sad development was confirmed by Daiton’s eldest son, Faheem Somanje.

The celebrated ‘Tsaona’ hitmaker passed away this Tuesday evening at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals after a short struggle with meningitis.

The renowned entertainer’s health deteriorated over the past week.

Daiton will be remembered for hit songs which he did together with his brother Josphast such as Tsaona, Kwatakabva Kure Nenhamo, Munonditaura, Seiko Kuonda, among others

Burial arrangements are yet to be announced.

Before his death, Daiton had buried the hatchet with son Faheem who was allegedly caught red handed in an affair with his step mother.
