Girl Dies After Friend Pulls Away Chair Before She Sat Down In Class


A 17-year-old girl has died at the Eden Park Secondary School, in Alberton, after a classmate pulled a chair out from under her.

“They alleged that she was in class and as she was about to sit down, one of the learners took the chair [out from under her] and she fell,” Gauteng police’s Lieutenant-Colonel Katlego Mogale said today.

“She was taken to the sick bay and was certified dead by paramedics.”

The incident happened on Monday and was being investigated by Eden Park police.

However, the girl’s uncle told EWN the school’s version is that the teenager collapsed and hit her head on the floor.

Neither the school’s principal nor Gauteng education department spokesperson Phumla Sekhonyane were immediately available for comment. – See more at:
