HARARE – Organisers of the Mafikizolo-Zahara show set for Harare on March 6 say Zimdancehall star Tocky Vibes was dropped from the high-profile gig due to his lack of professionalism.

Simmad Entertainment director Simba Madziwa told the Daily News that he would only deal with the rising young star if he apologises for prematurely leaving the stage on December 19 when he shared the stage with Mafikizolo.
“I am not going to engage him again unless and until he apologises for the lukewarm act he delivered last year at my concert featuring Mafikizolo, Oliver Mtukudzi and Alexio Kawara,” he said.
“To me, he did not perform at all. All he did was to come for the show just to get paid without working for it. If he was a self-respecting man he could have returned the money I paid him or at least apologise for being so unprofessional.”
The local acts that will warm up the stage for Mafikizolo and Zahara are Pachihera, Jah Prayzah and Winky D.
Efforts to get a comment from Tocky Vibes, who blamed his insipid performance on poor sound, proved fruitless as his phone was continually unreachable.
Meanwhile, Madziwa has revealed that the two South African groups will come to the Harare International Conference Centre with full backing bands.
“Last time Mafikizolo did not bring their backing band but this time they will be at full strength and as such we expect fireworks for sure. Zahara is a tried and tested musician who will never disappoint when she comes on the stage,” said Madziwa.
